The crowd was slow coming in Sunday night.I thought it was going to be a flop, but it turned out to be a good night.
RRB started out the night. These guys have some great down home Texas music.I'm sure most of yall have heard a few of their songs and know what I'm talking about. The crowd that had arrived was still lukewarm at best to their performance, but overall they had a great set.
Next up was Miranda. What can I say about this girl that yall don't already know?SHE ROCKS!!!Miranda's stage presence blew me away. She's come a long way since the first time I seen her play. The crowd was pumped up as soon as she set foot on stage.I'm not going thru a set list, but I do want to talk about one song in particular.Seeing Miranda perform "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" on the CMA's and then seeing her do it live was the difference between night and day.
I wanted to do a little "people watching"and see some reactions from people while Miranda was performing,so I slipped to the back of the pit where I could get a better view. You know your music is really influencing fans when they're stomping their feet, bobbing their heads and throwing out hand gestures(this was the whole crowd).I'm not sure if this was a good idea, but at one point Miranda knelt down and leaned over where fans could touch her head.I wasn't sure if a few of the guys was going to turn her hair loose! All of a sudden these two gorgeous ladies caught my attention that were standing against the barrier. One was probably in her early twenties and the other one about 17. These two ladies were ROCKIN' out.I was thinking to myself Miranda has some pretty stiff competition. So being the curious person that I am,I had to get a closer look to investigate. Sure enough, my eyes hadn't deceived me.These two ladies knew every word to Miranda's songs and wasn't missing a beat. That's when I realized I knew these two ladies from the forum!ROCK ON BEV and CRYSTA!
To put it subtle Miranda's performance ROCKED!
Dierks put on a great set and the crowd was on ther feet for the entire performance. One of the highlights was when he bailed off into the crowd and went up into the stands to sing. The whole place went crazy.
It was a great night and another experience for my history book. Thanks Miranda for a ROCK SOLID PERFORMANCE!!!!!Keep up the great work and you'll have a devoted fan for your career.
